Did You See Him

Did you see him?

Did you see that man upon the ledge above the street?

What would happen if he would be to fall?

What name would he cry aloud as his heart whispered words too swiftly for his lips to speak

What would be his last hope 

His last wish

His last memory

As his body hit and slightly jumped

A woman gawked and stared

A siren sounded in the distance

What would be found if one would seek to find

The contents of that dead man's pocket

Would it be a letter of love to the only he loved

A note of desperation

Or maybe

Just lint and dust 

Leaving questions unanswered 

Stories untold

What, if anything would the contents of that dead man's pocket hold.
