Through out my life I have been plagued by painful cycles, migraines and chronic nosebleeds. Even more detrimental than my physical ailments were my emotional struggles. 
 
Not being able to understand and name my emotions left me paralyzed. I can't imagine the hours and days, I spent sitting in the bottom of the shower hiding from my physical and/or emotional pain. 
 
The day I painted this piece was a turning point. Dealing with pain and nausea, I called off work for the day. But on this day instead of my discomfort being an excuse not to create, I used it as an opportunity to create. 
 
I spent the day sketching and painting and created a piece full of emotion and reflection.
